Looking at the average diverse lawn these days, I'm amazed at the amount of non-native plants that have been naturalized in this country. While I believe it's important to preserve the balance of native flora, as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism I also have an interest in preserving the heirloom varieties that our forefathers brought here. The following pages will eventually serve as a botanical knowledge base. Because common names are so area specific and can spell disaster if it involves ingestion, I'm pretty adamant about adding scientific names. Most items catalogued are, or will be, available for sale or trade. We like trading - you can't be taxed for trading!

Many thanks are owed to the knowledgeable people at the
Name That Plant Forum, who helped to properly identify many of our unknown plants.
